What can a reader legitimately understand from this research, and what does the manuscript need to help that understanding happen?

The answer may involve the research question, the evidence, the findings, the conclusions, the order of the sections, or the relationship between a specific claim and the support beneath it. It may also involve the audience: a specialist reviewer, an interdisciplinary reader, a dissertation committee, a journal editor, or a public-facing audience.

Proofreading can improve correctness and consistency. This consultation looks at the larger architecture of a project: what it is contributing, how the argument develops, where a reader may lose the thread, and whether the manuscript's emphasis matches its evidence.

The work may include reorganizing an explanation, clarifying a transition, distinguishing a finding from an implication, or translating a dissertation into a scholarly narrative. It does not mean simplifying a complex idea into something less true.

This service is for researchers, academics, graduate-level authors, interdisciplinary scholars, and professionals who are developing a manuscript or other substantial research communication.

It can be useful when the work is technically complete but its throughline is difficult to articulate, when feedback arrives from several audiences at once, or when an author needs a careful outside perspective on what the project is actually saying.
